The chinatown bedroom

I lived on my friend's couch in far-out Brooklyn. Then I rented an illegal third bedroom in Chinatown where my landlord lived in one of the other rooms and we couldn't cook in the kitchen. I ate pork buns or dumplings and drank bubble tea.
